Internships

Internships provide students with opportunities to discover the range of career options available for History majors. Internships also offer possibilities for professional networking that could lead to future employment. Indeed, a number of recent BAC History graduates have started their History careers through internships in museums, archives, libraries, and historic sites. Included below are some of the institutions that have employed recent BAC History grads:

  • Mississippi Civil Rights Museum (Jackson, MS)
  • History of Diving Museum (Islamorada, FL)
  • The American College for Obstetricians and Gynecologists (Washington D.C.)
  • The American Institute for Conservation of Historic and Artistic Works (Washington D.C.)
  • Gaston County Museum of Art and History (Dallas, NC)
  • King’s Mountain National Military Park (King’s Mountain, NC)

Listed below are internship opportunities in the local area and surrounding region. Please also note the more distant internship opportunities, like the Pacific Aviation Museum at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, or the Slavia Field School in Archaeology in Drawkso, Poland. Those internships were secured by the independent efforts of students seeking unique opportunities, which BAC faculty and staff were happy to support.
